Profile
My career began back in 1995 when I joined the world of high interest finance lending and collections. After a couple of years in this role, I accepted a new challenge as a Senior Account Manager and Supervisor of a national collection agency. I was recruited shortly thereafter by a major bank to join their Western Canada recovery team.
This started my nearly 10-year career in the banking industry, starting with the managing of delinquent accounts through follow up, re-writing, write-offs, and litigation. I was assigned special accounts which included he mortgage recovery portfolio, and I administered the foreclosure process for Western Canada.
I then transitioned into the branch and quickly moved into a senior lending role for a very busy Calgary branch. My passion lied with helping my clients and offering superior customer service, so I accepted another position as a mortgage specialist with the bank. This role gave me the time to spend and educate my clients and ensure they made the proper choices with their biggest purchase.
Another opportunity presented itself in the form of a Mortgage Development Sales Manager for Southern Alberta with a local Credit Union. This job had many sides to it, which included recruiting and growing the internal sales force of mobile specialists, and also being liaison and Business Development Manager with the mortgage broker network.
My clients were the draw to go back into direct mortgage sales, and the mortgage brokerage of Dominion Lending Centres Westcor really appealed to me. Here I can continue to work with my clients in providing exceptional service and knowledge, and also manage a group of associates as their Team Leader and Mentor.
One of my greatest achievements that I am most proud of, was being nominated for 3 years, and voted winner by my peers for the 2008 Award of Excellence with the BMO Employee Charitable Foundation. This is the bank's own employee-run charitable organization, and this prestigious recognition was awarded to employees across 6 regions of Canada for their philanthropic and fund-raising efforts. I also served on the Regional Board of the Foundation for 3 years, and had the honor of recognizing others with this same Award, and also doing many cheque presentations to the various charities we supported.
